This is the best screenwriting course I have taken. Jordan Imiola has put together a real winner here. It is full of useful information and inside secrets from a professional working writer. He is easy to listen to, explains things clearly, and the entire course goes "step by step" on how to come up with an idea and develop it using correct story structure, intriguing characters, and what info is needed and expected in each act. I liked his slides, which made it easier for me to pause the video to take notes. He also has included very informative and fun podcasts with professional writers midway through the course which I found a great break from just a structured learning platform. I also like that he finished off, giving great info on how to sell your screenplay once it is completed. Great job, Jordan. From start to finish, an incredible course. I learned a lot and had fun. I highly recommend this course if you are serious about screenwriting or just want to learn the essentials of writing a story. For context, I have been reading and learning about the craft of screenwriting for a little over a year now. I wrote a script last year that took 45 days, and it was terrible and derivative. It was a learning experience. I then went into research paralysis where I continued learning about the craft and was realizing that a lot of what was being said was echoed by others, just with different words. I've tried sitting down to write other scripts of some of my ideas, but they always fizzed out. But, I knew I could only learn more by actually writing. That's where this course came in. I was skeptical, but I decided to give it a go. Jordan's encouraging and bite-size no-frill style gets your story out of your head and onto a page. I was really busy and had days where I had to write 4-8 hours in one day, but I'm proud to say that it's day 14 and I have finished my first draft of a 110-page screenplay. It's not derivative, it's wholly mine. It wasn't even an inkling of an idea before Day 1, but that's what this course did for me. I plan on using it again to guide me on my next script, which now doesn't seem impossible or that scary. I feel accomplished, and confident in my abilities, which lead to results. I don't know what else I could ask for out of a course.
