Write a Christmas Movie in 7 Weeks
There's no better time to write a Christmas movie than when the holidays are in the air, and I'll be teaching a FUN screenwriting course on how to Write a Christmas Movie! Teaching you everything you need to know to write a Christmas Screenplay!
This will be a small group course on Zoom. We will meet on Zoom every Tuesday for 90 minutes for 7 Weeks starting 11/5. Before Christmas, you will have a Finished Screenplay! Your deadline for pages will be every Monday night, and I will read your pages and give you notes every Tuesday!
Christmas movies are evergreen (meaning they make money every year!), and I know this from the success of the holiday movie I wrote and directed in 2020, Christmas Staycation! I've also written other Christmas and holiday movies that several production companies have optioned! I also worked for MarVista Entertainment, which has produced dozens of Christmas movies for Lifetime and Hallmark.
You will be responsible for writing about 15 pages a week (about 2 pages a day). Keep in mind that scripts have a lot more white space and are FASTER to write than novels. I'll teach you the habits and strategies for writing a little bit every day!
Some of the Movies we'll Study include "A Christmas Story," "Elf," National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," "Home Alone 1 and 2" and more! If you have a favorite Christmas movie as well, let me know. This is a medium-intensity writing group course, as you will be responsible for writing about 10- 15 pages a week (keep in mind that scripts have a lot more white space and are faster to write than novels).
By the end of October, you will have a draft of a finished TV Pilot.
Write a Horror Screenplay in 1 Month - SOLD OUT
SOLD OUT - Write a Horror Movie from start to finish during October! There's no better time to do so than during the Spooky Season.
This will be a small Group Course over Zoom with no more than 4 students per class. We will meet on Zoom at the same time every week for 5 Weeks, and by Halloween, you will have a Finished Horror Screenplay!
This is one of my higher-intensity writing group courses. You will be responsible for writing 20 - 25 pages a week (keep in mind that scripts have a lot more white space and are faster to write than novels), and by Halloween 2024, you will have a draft of a Horror Movie done!
Movie examples we'll study include Nightmare on Elm Street, A Quiet Place, Friday the 13th, Alien, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, IT, and more! Also, if you have a favorite horror film, please let me know, and I'll also break down the structure of that movie.
